So my continued inability to save up for maya, has been somewhat sated by an art store that's in the mall where I work. I picked up most of what I need to get into sculpture work. So I have some super sculpey at home along with new tools, and I'll be picking up an airbrush in about 3-4 weeks, which I'm super looking forward too. I can work in 3D again, woot!

Now I just have to resist the temptation of drunk wii'ing with friends. Hehe, I love saying that.

slowly coming along

Well, last 3 shows of I Am Legend, it's not the worst movie that's been in IMAX (transformers...) still glad to see it go. I always get excited with new movies, it's a huge change of pace for me. I get to do fun stuff, like builds, tests and maintenance.

A co-worker is trying to get me to read The Warrior Heir as well. I don't want to start another book until I'm finished with the sluggish Descent of Angels though. That might take forever unfortunately.

So I really really really wanted to play mass effect, but from everything I read, I kept seeing xbox exclusive. So I went and bought a 360elite, JUST to play it, and a few weeks later I find out their releasing it for the PC in a couple of months (I believe it's may) and normally something like that would have irked me. It really didn't. I have fun playing Gears of War with my old roomie over xbox live, so much better without the split screen, and I needed something to hook up to my 50" tv. -And no, I don't want a ps3.

Hmm... I can't wait for my unreal tournament 3 and mass effect soundtracks to get here. Besides guildwars I havn't bought any music from games that I've owned, but for ut3, the way they made the music and cut it up seemed really cool, from what I saw on the collectors edition disc.

Well, that's about it for me, till next time!

I make myself feel stupid!

So here I am, wanting to get back into 3D, so I download the xsi demo. I decide I'll try it at work on my laptop, not thinking that I downloaded the 64bit version, and my laptop being 32bit, doesn't quite work out. Internet is really screwy up here too, so there's no way I'm able to dl the correct version. So I guess I'll try out zbrush3 again, I bought that a while ago and upgraded to 3.1, but havn't got into it yet. Oh, now I have a licensing issue with zbrush! They want me to call them so we can sort this out. It's a little too noisy here to call anyone about something like this, so I'll wait till tomorrow.

I Am Legend has some pretty good consistency. Not like Transformers, ugh.

I'm trying to read through the decent of angels right now, but I don't really like the dark angels very much, and that's making this book pretty boring and I have to force myself to read it, kinda like a math book. Oh well, I'll get through it, hopefully before the next in the horus heresy series is out.

Til we ain't strangers anymore by bon jovi and leann rimes... anyone else think this song is about a hooker and a john? seriously...

Well, that's about it for me, pretty tired and it might seem like I'm in a 'not that great' of a mood, but I can't stop singin 'captain, jean luc picard, of the u.s.s. enterprise!' seriously great song! and... eating at the bat café, you can't be unhappy ;)

so I kinda finished the fumbler fan art I had going. There was more I could do with it, but it wasn't for anyone but me, and maybe others if they looked at it, but I'll say it's done. I've been working 5 days a week for the past while and I gotta say it's weird. I get home and there isn't much for me to do, because my roommates have moved out and most of their stuff is still there - and all it does it upset me, because it's like I'm paying to live in their storage space *sigh*. I got it worked out that I'm workin 6 days this week, so hopefully I wont think about it too much.

I've been painting my Blood Angels these past few days as I couldn't think of anything I wanted to draw, so I think I may try my hand at a sister of battle. I've made a 3D one before, not to completion, as I lost access to maya before I got it done. So maybe I'll try to finish something with them as a subject.

A new Laptop!

So I figured a laptop would help me out with my art, because I like photoshop alot more than paper (paper doesn't have a very good 'liquify' or transform option). So I went out and got myself a Toshiba Satellite. 15" widescreen, core2duo, hddvd with hdmi out... It set me back a fair bit of coin, but I think it was well worth it!

Here's a preview of what I'm working on with it: The Fumbler
